John Pearson

President and Chief Executive Officer

John Pearson graduated with BSc (1st Class Honors), and Associateship of the Royal College of Science from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London. He has worked in scientific communications all 27 years of his working life.

Pearson joined Access Intelligence in early 2004 as CEO of the newly acquired SRI Consulting division of the company which specializes in chemical business information. His aim is to make SRI Consulting's research and analysis an indispensable part of the life of every executive in the chemicals industry.

Prior to that the lion's share of his career was spent at Miller Freeman, Inc., the San Francisco media group. There, he rose to be Executive Vice President responsible for a USD100+ million international portfolio of magazines, tradeshows, news, forecasting and educational products for the forest products, packaging, electronics and healthcare businesses. He was also responsible in the period 1998-2000 for two strategic acquisitions worth a combined USD120 million.

George Intille

Senior Vice President

Dr. George M. Intille has been involved in all phases of the petroleum, natural gas, and petrochemical processing industries worldwide for nearly three decades. During this time, he conducted numerous technical and economic studies, ranging from fundamental chemistry to major joint venture evaluations. His work has covered the production of more than 200 major petrochemical studies and evaluations on every continent and has provided process, research, strategic, financial and market advice and analysis to more than 100 chemical and energy companies throughout the world as well as to industry groups, government agencies and financial organizations. His previous experience includes positions with various consulting firms as well as with Monsanto and ARCO. He received a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a Doctorate in chemistry from Syracuse University. He holds numerous patents and has published numerous articles in technical journals in the area of chemical technology and markets.

Linda R. Henderson

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Linda Henderson joined SRI Consulting in February 2004. Since then she has overseen the launch of the Membership Rewards Program and "Lunch and Learn" training for subscribers. Linda has implemented a global advertising schedule and expanded conference participation to increase the company's presence internationally. Her responsibilities include negotiating contracts across research programs and facilitating cross-group proposals.

Linda has over twenty years of sales and contract-negotiation experience in business-to-business publishing since she began her publishing career with Chemical Week magazine. Prior to working in publishing she managed marketing communications for an international plastics reseller.

Linda received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Marketing. She has conducted training classes in listening skills and chaired a task force on sales awards. In addition, Linda has over 100 hours of training as a coach.

Ralf Gubler

Vice President
Director, Specialty Chemicals Update Program

Ralf Gubler is Vice President and Program Director for the Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP). He has more than 10 years of consulting experience in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and medical products industries.

Mr. Gubler joined SRI Consulting (SRIC) in February 2001 and has authored numerous comprehensive reports for the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH). In 2004, Mr. Gubler became the Director of the CEH program, managing research, promotion and sales activities for SRIC's CEH in Europe. He was promoted to the position of Vice President in October 2006. In addition, he has managerial responsibility for the Zürich office as well as his newest role of Director of Specialty Chemicals Update Program.

Before joining SRIC, Mr. Gubler spent three years at McKinsey & Company in Zürich, Switzerland as Research Analyst. At McKinsey, he performed analysis for the chemical, pharmaceuticals and medical products industries. Prior to McKinsey, he worked as a Scientific Coworker with a chemical company based in Switzerland.

Mr. Gubler received his Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry from Zürich University. He is fluent in German and English and has working knowledge of French.

Russell Heinen

Vice President

Russell Heinen is Vice President of SRI Consulting's Process Economics Program (PEP), World Petrochemicals Program (WP), Safe and Sustainable (S&S) Series and Greenhouse Gases Handbook (GHG). He has more than 24 years of experience in energy and chemical consulting. His expertise ranges from energy and chemical market analysis, forecasting, process economic evaluations, investment and business interruption analysis. Russell also worked on the development and implementation of information systems used to evaluate business threats and opportunities. Before joining SRIC, Russell held key positions with other chemical and energy consulting companies. He was a Senior Consultant at Rimkus Consulting Group performing business-interruption analysis for refining and chemical facilities. As a Senior Consultant at Purvin & Gertz and at Bonner & Moore, he developed systems and analyzed energy markets to identify opportunities for clients to improve profitability. Russell holds a B.S. in engineering and an M.B.A. from Rice University.

Director, Chemical Economics Handbook

Koon-Ling Ring is Director of the Chemical Economics Handbook (CEH) of SRI Consulting, specializing in petrochemicals and polymers. She has more than 25 years of market research experience in the fields of petrochemicals and intermediates, specialty polymers, agricultural biotechnology, and specialty chemicals. Since she rejoined SRIC in 1990, she has authored several market research reports for CEH and Specialty Chemicals Update Program (SCUP), including BTX, Styrene, Polystyrene, ABS, Styrenic Copolymers and high performance engineering plastics (Polyimides, Polycarbonates, High-Performance Thermoplastic Films and Fluoropolymers). She holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Pomona College, Claremont Colleges in California.

Carolyn Read

Director, Directory of Chemical Producers

Carolyn Read is Program Director for the Directory of Chemical Producers (DCP) Program. She has almost 30 years of chemical marketing research and industry analysis experience. She currently manages the research and marketing of nine annual DCP editions and also specializes in the area of polymers, organic intermediates and petrochemicals.

Carolyn has participated in a wide variety of projects at SRIC, including the development, deployment and ongoing quality control of electronic delivery systems for SRI Consulting's chemical marketing research programs; performing supply/demand studies on numerous chemicals; and analyzing the development of the chemical and allied industries in developing nations.

Carolyn holds a B.S. in biological sciences from the University of California at Davis, where she graduated with honors.

Ed Gartner

Director, World Petrochemicals

Ed Gartner is Director of the World Petrochemicals Program (WP) at SRI Consulting's office in The Woodlands, Texas. He has more than thirty-three years of experience (including thirteen in consulting) covering the global specialty chemicals, plastics, fibers, and petrochemicals markets. Ed's areas of expertise include market research, operations management, strategic planning, competitive assessment, technology selection, and global trade patterns, as well as manufacturing cost analysis.

Prior to joining SRI Consulting in 1998, Ed held positions with Cincinnati Milacron Chemicals, Olin Corporation, Amoco Chemicals Company, and DeWitt and Company.

Ed holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati (1973) and an M.S. in Finance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake (1988). He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Financial Management Association International. He has authored several papers for national conferences and trade shows.

RJ Chang

Director, Process Economics Program

Dr. Rong-Jong (R.J.) Chang is currently the Director of the Process Economics Program (PEP) at SRI Consulting. Since joining SRI Consulting in 2005, he has been an author of various market reports on elastomers, high performance thermoplastics, corrosion inhibitors, synthetic lubricants, plastics additives, surfactants and flat panel display chemicals. Prior to joining SRIC, Mr. Chang had 26 years of industrial experience with major chemical companies such as General Tire, 3M Company and Raychem Corporation. His expertise encompasses coating, plastic, adhesive and rubber industries. He holds 17 patents and has published 17 technical papers. He received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from National Taiwan University in Taiwan, a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and a PhD degree in Polymer Science from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.

Masahiro Yoneyama

Regional Vice President, Japanese Operations

Masahiro Yoneyama is currently engaged in market research and business analysis of the chemical industry in Japan as well as other Asian countries. In addition, he has managerial responsibility for the Tokyo office. Before joining SRI Consulting in 1999, he worked for the chemical division of a multinational oil company for 18 years in various capacities in Japan, London and Singapore. Mr. Yoneyama received a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Waseda University and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.

Guangdong Qu

Regional Vice President, Chinese Operations

Guangdong Qu has more than 20 years of experience in energy, chemical and textile industries. His expertise includes conducting market research, competitive analyses, and project feasibility studies for the petrochemical industry, and helping clients formulate marketing strategies. In recent years he has conducted many nationwide and regional market surveys, forecasted product slates and production costs, and helped design distribution systems. He has participated in the study of taxation reform for China's petrochemical industry and the development of a databank for oil refining technology for China Petrochemical Corporation (SINOPEC), among others. Before joining SRIC, Mr. Qu was a senior engineer and director of market research of China Petrochemical Consulting Corporation, SINOPEC. He holds a BS in oil processing from the East China University of Science and Technology, and an MBA from Dalian University of Science and Technology.

Marcos A. Nogueira César

Regional Director, Latin American Operations

Marcos Nogueira César is currently responsible for business development, promotion, and sales activities for SRIC in Latin America. He has more than fifteen years of consulting and plant operations experience in the chemical industry. His expertise includes technoeconomic process evaluations and market analysis of petrochemicals, chemical intermediates and biofuels. Marcos has also authored several reports for SRIC’s Process Economics Program (PEP).

Before joining SRIC in 1999, Marcos spent 6 years with Rhodia S.A. in Brazil (a subsidiary of Rhône-Poulenc), where he held positions in manufacturing and R&D.

Marcos was a Fulbright Scholar. He holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, an M.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the State University of Campinas (Brazil). He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English, and competent in French.
